Seminars on the presentation and awareness of Food and Agricultural Routes of Galicia project were given to the interested sectors

During the month of July meetings for present and raise awareness of entrepreneurs interested in taking part in the Food and Agricultural Routes of Galicia project were held in each node.

On the 1st, 5th, 6th and 7th of July seminars to inform and raise awareness of the Food and Agricultural Routes of Galicia project took place. They were addressed to representatives of organizations, associations, tourism business (hotels, restaurants) and food and agricultural industries located in the territory of action or pilot nodes. Food and Agricultural Routes of Galicia is funded by the Transnational Cooperation Operational Programme “Atlantic Area” under the actions of Cantata 2 project. Following these seminars, participants were invited to join the project.

The food and agricultural routes will be a tourist product around geographical areas previously defined (nodes) which cover several councils of a Protected Geographical Status, Protected Geographical Indication or others with a traditional way of production, so that tourists can travel from one component of the route to another, enjoying our natural, cultural, historical and gastronomic heritage. Products that form the Food and Agricultural Routes of Galicia are the San Simon, Tetilla, Arzúa-Ulloa and Cebreiro cheeses, Galician honey and Galician chestnut (all of them covered under different instruments to protect their quality) and traditionally raised poultry such as the capon from Vilalba, the Vila de Cruces rooster and the Mos hen.

The purpose of the product "Food and Agricultural Routes of Galicia" is to build a product from the particular identity of each destination, to facilitate the marketing as a whole of the proposed nodes and to ensure the satisfaction of demand, thereby boosting the comprehensive economic - social development of the rural areas of Galicia.
